Castletown Commissioners will be carrying out a review into the parking provision across the town.

Vice-chair John Cringle believes there’s a ‘fine balance’ to make sure residents don’t feel ‘disadvantaged’ while also looking at introducing regulations and restrictions.

He said: ‘It’s a fine balance, that residents don’t have to park miles away from their home, but equally, that visitors can have a period of time where they can walk around town and visit some of the historic sites.

‘So it's very important that we look at the areas and we designate parking strategically.’

Mr Cringle also confirmed the local authority had received a lot of ‘representation’ from residents who have had parking removed, but believes it can do a ‘very good strategy’ without hearing from visitors.
