A 21-year-old has admitted breaching his bail by contacting a witness.

Logan Kelly, of King William's Way, Castletown, previously denied allegations of common assault and criminal damage, and was bailed on August 18, with a pre-trial review scheduled for October 6.

However, on August 20, Mr Kelly tried to call one witness, who didn’t recognise the number, so rang him back.

Mr Kelly was said to have tried to persuade the woman to withdraw a statement if he paid for damage.

He was also said to have unsuccessfully attempted to contact a second witness.

Defence advocate Kaitlyn Shimmin said Kelly had been intoxicated and asked for bail to continue.

Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood granted bail, but warned the defendant that another breach would likely result in a remand.
