A casualty was transferred to a specialist UK hospital following a crash in Ballasalla on Thursday morning.
The incident happened at Church Bends on Malew Road at 11.45am, leading to a stretch of road being closed between Cross Four Ways and Malew Street while emergency services attended the scene.
The critical care team from the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was alerted at 12.14pm following reports of the road traffic collision.
A GNAAS spokesperson said: ‘We had a paramedic and doctor on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 12.47pm.
‘Our team worked alongside the Isle of Man Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient before airlifting them to a specialist hospital in England for further treatment.’
The Isle of Man Constabulary is now appealing for information relating to the incident.
Officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time, or who witnessed the crash, to come forward.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Any members of the public that were on the stated road at the time and have dash camera footage, or can provide any other information regarding this road traffic collision, are asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit via Police Headquarters on 01624 631212 quoting the reference 97/5690/26.’
