Matthew Bostock and Ben Swift will bring the curtain down on Team Isle of Man’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games campaign later this afternoon (Sunday).

The pair will contest the 40km points race at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome at 4.39pm.

It is the last track action of the Games.

The Big Bonus: Lapping the Field

Riders who break away and manage to gain a full lap on the main pack receive a massive scoring bonus.

Deciding the Overall Winner

The overall winner is the rider with the highest total point accumulation at the end of the race distance—not simply the rider who crosses the finish line first.

Tactical Note: Riders either conserve energy in the bunch for 10-lap sprints or join 2–5 rider breakaways to steal laps.

The pair made is safely through this morning’s qualification heats, Bostock finishing fourth in his race and Swift sixth.

Ten days of action comes to a close this evening at the Hydro in a closing ceremony that is being headlined by Scottish rock legends Simple Minds.

That gets under way at 9pm.
