A Castletown man has admitted possessing and downloading indecent images of children.
Fifty-nine-year-old Warren Clark appeared before magistrates pleading guilty to 10 counts of the offences.
The charges relate to 551 images.
Prosecuting advocate Harry Bellis submitted that the case was suitable to be sentenced in summary court.
Clark, of Janet’s Corner, was represented by defence advocate David Reynolds, who agreed, and asked for a probation report to be prepared.
Mr Reynolds said that there was a low amount of serious images and no images had been distributed.
Magistrates accepted summary court jurisdiction and Clark will be sentenced on August 27.
Bail continues with conditions to contact probation services, not to leave the island, and with computer restrictions in place.
