A 37-year-old man has been fined £300 for breaching a Domestic Abuse Protection Notice.

Jason Norman Harry Ernest McNulty was prohibited from contacting a woman under the terms of the notice.

Magistrates heard that, on September 11, police were called to her Douglas address.

McNulty had arrived at the property, allegedly drunk, and was initially allowed to enter.

However, the woman then asked him to leave, but he was said to have pushed her, causing her to fall backwards and hit her head.

A search of the area found McNulty hiding in a garden shed.

The notice was said to have expired the day after the incident, and no application for a further order had been made.

McNulty, of Cullyn Path, Douglas, must also pay £125 prosecution costs.
