An Onchan teenager has been fined £430 for riding a moped in a dangerous condition.
Finley Sweet, 18, of Larch Hill Grove, was spoken to by police at the Bottleneck car park on Douglas promenade, on October 21.
Six defects were found and Sweet also admitted having no valid licence as he only held a UK provisional.
Defence advocate David Clegg said that his client had since obtained a full licence to drive a car.
The advocate said Sweet had been riding a classic moped.
‘With a following wind and a downhill slope it might break 30,’ said Mr Clegg.
Magistrates also endorsed the teenager’s licence with three points and ordered £300 prosecution costs.
