A Peel woman who had denied a common assault has changed her plea to guilty.

Tamisha May Thomas will be sentenced on August 25 after a probation report has been prepared.

Defence advocate David Reynolds said that a basis of plea had been submitted, and while not accepted by the prosecution, it wouldn’t make a material difference to the sentence.

The offence was committed at an address at Kerroo Coar in Peel on March 22, when 24-year-old Thomas was said to have gone to the victim’s home and accused her of sleeping with her ex-boyfriend.

Thomas, of Fenella Terrace, grabbed her hair and made contact with her face during a struggle.

The woman suffered a bruise near her eye.

Bail continues.
