A new cinema screen has been unveiled at Promenade Methodist Church thanks to sponsorship from a local business.
In January, the landmark church on Loch Promenade celebrated the 50th anniversary of its opening.
A new community hub was officially launched following a £160,000 refurbishment of the lower ground floor.
Now another part of the church building, promoted under the PromSpace banner, has undergone a makeover.
The upstairs main hall can seat up to 250 people and is regularly used for business presentations and charitable events.
Its full-size cinema screen was on its last legs after almost 50 years. But thanks to sponsorship from Canaccord Wealth, a new automatically lowering screen costing almost £3,000 has now been installed.
Juan Clarke, on behalf of PromSpace, said: ‘We are really pleased to have taken delivery of this brand new cinema screen in the 50th anniversary year of the Promenade Church.
‘It is fully automatic and can be brought down and raised back up at the touch of a button, unlike the previous screen which required two people to wind up using ropes!
‘I would like to thank Canaccord for their very generous donation enabling the continued use of this space for presentations and film shows, hopefully for the next 50 years.’
