The British Army’s Red Devils parachute display team performance over Douglas this evening (Thursday, August 27) has been cancelled.

The display was due to begin at 7.30pm, with the Red Devils jumping from heights of up to 10,000 feet before performing a precision aerial display.

However, due to a poor weather forecast, the event will no longer go ahead.

The Red Devils are the British Army’s official parachute display team and are made up of serving soldiers from the Parachute Regiment.

Established in 1964, the team has performed at events around the world for more than 60 years.

Tonight’s display was originally scheduled to form part of this year’s Classic TT programme.

However, the Classic TT celebrations were cut short because of forecasts of poor weather, with the Red Devils display subsequently rearranged as a standalone event.
