Isle of Man charities and community groups have until Saturday, October 31, to apply for funding through Manx Telecom’s Marg McGee Community Awards.

The deadline applies to both the two new £10,000 Marg McGee Community Partnerships and the company’s Small Grants Programme, with judging for both schemes due to take place in November.

The enhanced fund was doubled to £40,000 in July, making it the largest in the programme’s history.

Now in its 19th year, the awards have distributed more than £200,000 to over 200 Manx community groups since launching in 2008 as the It’s Our Community Awards.

The Marg McGee Community Partnerships will each provide £10,000 to a registered Isle of Man charity, with the successful organisations also working with Manx Telecom as strategic partners throughout 2027.

The partnerships are intended to offer more than financial support, including collaboration, increased profile and practical assistance.

Applicants must work in at least one of four areas: culture, the environment, wellbeing or digital inclusion. The two successful charities are expected to be announced in late 2026, with funding covering the year beginning in 2027.

The Small Grants Programme is open throughout the year, with two judging rounds. Applications submitted by October 31 will be considered in November, while those received after the deadline will be carried forward to the May 2027 round, which closes on April 30.

Applications are reviewed by Manx Telecom’s senior leadership team alongside guest members of the House of Keys. The programme aims to make funding accessible to smaller, volunteer-run groups, including sports clubs, youth organisations, heritage groups and village associations.

Successful projects will be recognised at the annual Marg McGee Community Awards presentation evening in 2027.

Applications for both schemes can be submitted online at https://www.manxtelecom.com/mmca before the October 31 deadline.
