International dance music DJ Judge Jules is set to perform at Bench Nightclub in Douglas after demand for the event saw the first show sell out.

The DJ and broadcaster will headline an event organised by Isle of Man DJ and promoter Neil Cowie on Saturday, December 12.

A second evening session has now been added, running from 8pm until midnight, with tickets available for those who missed out on the original event.

Neil Cowie has been involved in the island’s nightlife scene for more than four decades, first getting behind the decks as a teenager at the Palace Lido in the 1980s.

He later became a resident DJ at Jimmy B’s alongside his brother Colin during the 1990s, working with promoter Andy Waddington to bring UK club brands including Miss Moneypenny’s, Cream and Gatecrasher to the island.

He then went on to spend six years working at 1886 nightclub, where he developed his ‘Afternoon Disco’ concept.

The event series began as a celebration of the clubbing era of the 1970s, 80s and 90s before developing into a regular event at Bench Nightclub on Athol Street.

It has since featured guest DJs and acts including Hedkandi, K-Klass, Alex P and 2Funky2, as well as local DJs.

Cowie has also performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, where he was a Sunday co-headline act for the ElectroLove arena on two occasions.

His events have continued throughout 2026, with Hedkandi appearing in March, K-Klass in April and a Club Classics afternoon in May featuring Paul Bleasdale of Cream alongside island DJs Roy Campbell, Kim Bezance, Robyn Freestone and Hendo.

Judge Jules, whose real name is Julius O'Riordan, has been a prominent figure in UK dance music for decades, working as a DJ, producer and broadcaster.

His career has included performances around the world and a long-running association with dance music radio.

The December event will bring the internationally known DJ to the island alongside Cowie, who said the response to the initial announcement demonstrated continued interest in clubbing events.

He said the next 12 months would also see ‘some very big names’ visit the island, although further artists have not yet been announced.

The additional December session will give more island residents and visitors the opportunity to see Judge Jules perform at Bench Nightclub.

Cowie’s Afternoon Disco has continued to grow into a regular fixture on the island’s events calendar, bringing together generations of clubbers and featuring music from across several decades.

He also hosts a weekly show on 3FM, airing on Saturdays from 4pm to 7pm, where he continues to champion dance music and the island’s nightlife scene.

With the second December session now announced, fans will have another opportunity to see Judge Jules take to the decks at Bench Nightclub.
