Film crews were in Sulby on Saturday morning as production resumed on the Isle of Man for the Hollywood feature film ‘Isle of Man’.

The TT-inspired movie, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, is continuing its second phase of filming on the island this week, with crews using sections of the TT Mountain Course and surrounding locations.

Isle of Man Today understands that today’s filming is being used to capture racing sequences, which mostly includes stunt doubles.

The filming this morning comes as temporary road closures are being put in place to facilitate the production.

The road between Sulby Bridge and Milntown was closed from 4am on Saturday and is due to reopen at 3pm. A separate section of the TT Course, from Barrule Park in Ramsey to the Tholt-y-Will Road, is scheduled to close from 2pm until 8pm.

The closures are part of an extended filming programme running from Saturday, August 8 to Saturday, August 15. The entire Mountain Course is not being closed at any one time, with filming taking place on specific sections of the route.

The film stars Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson, alongside Ciarán Hinds, May Calamawy and Ruaridh Mollica.

Tatum and Hewson were among the cast seen filming around the TT Grandstand and Glencrutchery Road during the TT earlier this year.

Production began on the island in May, with the filmmakers deliberately using the real TT environment during race week. Locals were also recruited as extras for scenes intended to recreate the atmosphere of the TT winners’ enclosure.

The production subsequently moved to Ireland for additional filming, including scenes shot in County Sligo in July. Brad Pitt, whose Plan B Entertainment is involved in the production, also visited the Isle of Man during filming in TT week.

The feature film forms part of a wider agreement with Amazon MGM Studios that also includes a companion documentary series filmed during the 2024 Isle of Man TT.
