What is your idea of a perfect meal?

Being with my husband and son, in a beautiful, relaxed setting on a tropical island next to the sea, with champagne and delicious food.

What is your favourite way to relax?

Lying in the sun with a good book, preferably on a beach or by a pool.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Travel, as often as I can, wherever I can! It doesn’t have to be longhaul - I just enjoy seeing new places and experiencing different cultures.

What is your greatest achievement?

Getting my first book published. It’s a dream come true, and I’ve really enjoyed the whole process.

What is your favourite time of the year?

I love summer with its long warmer days. It’s great being able to spend more time outdoors and in nature.

What is the first job you ever had?

I worked in Gelling Travel in Douglas as a summer job when I was at college studying travel and tourism.

Do you have any irrational fears?

No, apart from spiders!

What is your worst habit?

Being late. I always think I have more time than I actually have!

What is your favourite book?

Anything by Mike Dooley, an American author.

What is your favourite TV programme?

I hardly watch TV, but I do love Strictly, as cheesy as it is. I guess that’s part of its attraction!

What is your favourite band/artist at the moment?

I’ve recently downloaded Foreigner 4 and a couple of Police albums. I love them as they remind me of my school days.

What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?

Douglas Promenade. There is always a nice buzz there with plenty to look at and lovely scenery. It’s always a pleasure to see so many people of all ages there enjoying it in their own way; be they walking, cycling, jogging, or whatever. My son likes to take his hoverboard there.

What is the last show/band that you saw live?

We went to the Gibraltar Music Festival in 2015, as we were living there at the time. Madness were absolutely fantastic and completely stole the show!

If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?

I would go somewhere beautiful like the Amalfi Coast in Italy with my husband and son. Breakfast on the terrace of our 5 star hotel, followed by some sight-seeing and a little shopping, find a gorgeous little café for an al fresco lunch, then head back to our hotel for some time at the pool, before dinner under the stars and dancing. Lots of love and laughs, beautiful scenery, excellent food and wonderful music.

Choose three people, dead or alive, to invite to dinner?

My father, who died when I was 14, as I would love to meet him and talk to him again again as an adult, author Mike Dooley, who is the nicest guy and so interesting; and motorbike racer Philip McCallen, because I think he would be great craic.
