Scoill Phurt le Moirrey has received national recognition for its work supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing, winning a ‘Happiness Heroes’ award at myHappymind LIVE 2026 in Manchester.

The award was presented at the Treehouse Hotel earlier this month, as the myHappymind organisation marked its 10th anniversary with an event bringing together schools and partners from across the UK.

The Happiness Heroes award recognises how pupils at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey have embraced the myHappymind programme and put its lessons into practice to support their own mental health and that of others.

The programme is designed to help schools make wellbeing part of everyday learning, equipping children with practical strategies to develop resilience, build confidence and form positive relationships.

The award acknowledges the contribution of both pupils and staff at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey in making wellbeing a central part of school life.

It also reflects the school’s commitment to supporting children’s personal development alongside their academic education.

Simon Murphy, executive headteacher of Scoill Phurt le Moirrey and Rushen Primary School, said: ‘We’re incredibly proud of our children and the way they’ve embraced the programme. For us, it’s about giving children the tools to “know what to do, when they don’t know what to do”.

‘It takes a village to raise a child, and we’re fortunate to be part of some wonderful villages — from our own school communities and the wider Isle of Man education community to the partners who work alongside us, including the myHappymind family.

‘Working together to help children thrive is what really matters.’

A spokesperson from the school added: ‘The award recognises the work of the children and staff at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey in making wellbeing a central part of school life, alongside the school’s commitment in helping children flourish both academically and personally.’
