One of the biggest selling and most popular singer songwriters is on the road and heading back to the Isle of Man next year.
James Blunt is set to appear at the Villa Marina on Monday, May 17, with tickets going on sale tomorrow (Friday) at 10am.
The multi-million selling artist, who penned the global hit ’You’re Beautiful’ previously appeared at the Villa Marina in 2018, selling out the Royal Hall in a matter of hours thrilling the crowd with a set of greatest hits.
James, a former cavalry officer in the British Army and frequent ’winner of the internet’, thanks to his hilarious and often self-depricating Twitter account recently released his latest album, Once Upon A Mind, in October 2019, with the album making the higher reaches of charts around the world, including number three in the UK.
However, he was in the midst of a European tour in support of the album when the coronavirus restrictions hit and he had to postpone or cancel his gigs.
He has since shifted his tour to spring next year and has included a raft of new dates, including the island concert.
He has also released a special deluxe version of Once Upon A Mind, entitled the Time Suspended Edition, which was released at the end of June and featured featuring two new demo songs and six acoustic tracks.
His debut album, Back To Bedlam, sold more than 11 million copies and hit single, You’re Beautiful, was number one in multiple countries while winning an Ivor Novello for airplay and receiving three Grammy nominations.
James went on to achieve another multi-million selling album, All The Lost Souls, and continued his success story with Some Kind Of Trouble and Moon Landing.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £45 for downstairs and £55 for an upstairs seat, available from the Welcome Centre and Villa Marina box office on 600555, or online from villagaiety.com
Scottish pop rock giants Texas will also take perform on the island in May next year.
The concert was originally set for October this year, but the band have postponed the concert until Wednesday, May 12.
Tickets are £50, also available from villagaiety.com
