We are now less than an hour away from the deadline for nominations for the Isle of Man’s next Chief Minister.

A number of names have been bandied around in recent days, with Treasury Minister Chris Thomas having now confirmed he has put his name forward, while other potential candidates have yet to publicly declare their intentions.

Rob Callister has also withdrawn from the race, saying he did not have enough support among fellow MHKs to secure a nomination.

With nominations due to be handed in at noon, we’ll be updating this live blog throughout the day with the runners and riders, confirmed developments and factual information as we get it.

The House of Keys is due to meet at 10am next Tuesday, October 13, to elect the next Chief Minister. Each candidate will be able to make an opening speech and answer questions from MHKs before a ballot if more than one person is nominated.

A candidate needs the support of at least 13 of the 24 MHKs to secure the nomination.

Follow along below as we find out who is putting their name forward.
