The long wait for swimmers keen to get back in the National Sport Centre pool is over.
Today (Saturday) will see the main swimming pool reopen to the public.
The pools closed on August 4 2018 and were originally scheduled to reopen in May.
Education Minister Graham Cregeen announced the delay was caused by ’significant’ issues with the design, manufacture and installation of the flumes.
The leisure pool and flumes will remain closed to the public.
And no date has been given for when they will re-open.
Swim sessions will take place at the following times on Saturday and Sunday (August 18): quiet sessions (no toys or floats) from 9am-10.15am and 4.30-7pm; fun sessions (with toys and floats) from 10.30am-12pm, 12.30pm-2pm and 2.30-4pm.
Lane swimming will be available throughout the day.
