First up this week is a band that should need no introduction.

Those with a penchant for AC/DC may wish to head to the town hall in Port St Mary this Saturday night to catch Manx tribute band, DC/AC in action, for what will be a huge run through the back catalogue of the aforementioned Australian Rock legends.

You can expect the likes of Whole Lotta’ Rosie, Back In Black, For Those About To Rock (We Salute You), You Shook Me All Night Long and Highway To Hell among many others.

At the time of writing, there were just 30 tickets left. For further details on where to grab the remaining tickets, visit the DC/AC Facebook page.

There are also couple of charity gigs taking place this weekend.

Firstly we have ’Turn It Up For Tia’, an event that sees money being raised for seven-year-old Tia Duncan, who is undergoing treatment for a rare brain condition.

Organised by local singer songwriter, Joey Wylde, the event held in The Promenade Suite at The Villa Marina sees a bill headed up by Alex Harris, Nicki Naden, King Of The Forrest and Lime Rain.

Tickets are just £5 and can be purchased from the Villa Marina reception, or by calling 229999 or 266675.

All money raised will be donated to Tia and her family to assist with medical costs for her treatment.

Secondly we have an open mic night tonight ( Thursday).

If you head to The Archibald Knox Pub in Onchan, from 8pm, any budding acoustic troubadours can participate in this charity event.

Open to all abilities, the event has been organised by local musician Eugene Wilson, with all proceeds raised on the night going to the Anthony Nolan trust.

Previously, the likes of Ian Thompson, Nell Kneale, Adrian Cowin, Joey Wilde and Eugene himself have all appeared at these regular nights around the island. There’s also a free drink in it for anyone who performs!

We head to The Rovers in Douglas where you can catch all things punk and rock, in the shape of the final gig by CrotcH LiceE, plus Sansucci, Han fx, Jor-DMC and the Innuendo Orchestra, Moleman and the Dank Rejects and Slow Decay.

See the Manx Punx Facebook page for more information.

Finally Call Me Amour, featuring Harry Radford (ex-Yashin) on vocals and former Uber Room guitarist and singer, Geoff Murphy, are heading to London for a debut show in Camden on January 9.
