Two new benches dedicated to men who fought in the First World War have been installed beside Onchan war memorial.

A service of dedication was held at Main Road in Onchan which was attended by Second World War veteran Hector Duff.

The benches were provided by Onchan Commissioners and the Onchan Branch of the Royal British Legion.

The war memorial was previously in an almost adjoining site on Whitebridge Road. However it was moved to its present site in 1982 due to a road widening scheme.
