Organisers of the annual one-day Jurby Day motorcycle festival have moved the date of their event with the Mountain Course now closed on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Andreas Racing Association confirmed the event will now take place on Saturday, August 29 instead of its original date of Sunday, August 23.

An update on social media said: ‘Following confirmation that racing will now be taking place on the Mountain Course this Sunday, we have made the decision to postpone Jurby Day.

‘We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we’ve waited for confirmation of the weekend’s racing arrangements.

‘We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Jurby on Saturday, August 29 for what promises to be a fantastic day.

‘Please save the new date and keep an eye on our page for further updates. Thank you for your continued support!’

The annual event at the Jurby Motordrome, which features classic bike parades, entertainment and stalls, usually attracts thousands.
