Peel Commissioners is encouraging residents to send in their views about a proposal to develop a boutique hotel on East Quay.
The local authority discussed the application at its public meeting – but opted to defer a decision until it had spoken to the applicant and heard from residents.
Plans for the site also include nine apartments and the redevelopment of the Castle Street Gardens.
The local authority vice-chair Sharon Lambert says the board would support the plans because it would develop a brownfield site – but has concerns about the height of the building and parking.
‘We know there’s a lot of feedback that people want to give us,’ she said.
‘There's a lot of unanswered questions, and we want to make sure that we are aware of everything.’
