The debate on Lord Lisvane’s proposed reforms of Tynwald has been postponed for three months.

It had been due to take place at the April sitting of Tynwald but will not now happen until June. Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas told the court: ’A June debate would provide three more months for consideration of this important matter.’

Lord Lisvane will return in May for talks. Among his recommendations is that MLCs should not be department members and only exceptionally Ministers.
