Health Minister Kate Beecroft says her department will look at introducing an ’opt-out’ law for organ donation, instead of the current ’opt-in’ situation.
’Wales has recently moved to an opt-out system and we will review our procedures in light of evidence that comes from that experience,’ she told Tynwald.
Martyn Perkins (Garff) urged the department to ’look further’ than Wales.
Mrs Beecroft said: ’Wales is our nearest neighbour who has taken this action, but I am more than happy to go back to the department and ask them to look at other areas.’
