Originally scheduled for Saturday, the festival will now be held on Sunday, September 13, at Onchan Park.
Forecasts are predicting a dry and sunny Sunday, while Saturday is expected to bring periods of rain and strong winds - less than ideal conditions for an outdoor chilli festival.
Stuart from Fire Island said: ‘We haven’t taken this decision lightly. We know people have made plans and, as farmers, we know the Manx weather can change quickly. Moving an event 24 hours back is never ideal, but far preferable to cancelling.
‘Ultimately, we want people to come along, eat, drink, listen to some great music, have a laugh and enjoy a brilliant day in decent weather.’
Organisers have assured those planning to attend that ‘almost everything remains exactly as planned’.
The festival will still feature a full programme of live music, including Scran, Alex Harris, Rebecca Forrest and a DJ set from Kitchen Disco.
The event will run from 12 noon until 7.30pm, with admission free.
There will be two minor changes to the programme, with one food truck and one scheduled food demonstration unable to attend.
However, organisers said replacement food and demonstration options have already been arranged.
Ruth from the festival team said: ‘Tents are for circuses, we are a proper outdoor festival and we’d much rather make the call now and give as much notice as we could, knowing that we can make it the best possible experience for everyone.’
She added: ‘We’re hugely grateful to everyone involved for being so flexible. Moving an event is never ideal, and the traders, performers, demonstrators and sponsors have been fantastic.
‘As our festival motto says, Summer isn’t over until we say so!
‘Same festival. Same people. Same food, same music and the same nonsense - just 24 hours later.’
The Fire Island Chilli & BBQ Festival will now take place at Onchan Park on Sunday, September 13, from 12 noon until 7.30pm.
