RYAN Cringle is in the line-up for the Starbiker class at the final round of the 2026 FIM S1 GP SuperMoto World Championship at Mettet, Belgium this weekend.
Recognised as the greatest Supermoto event on the planet, the line-up includes a number of top-line road racers, notably TT aces Peter Hickman and Davey Todd, BSB stars Storm Stacey and Josh Owens, and leading AMA rider Brandon Paasch who is apparently eyeing up a TT debut in the not-too-distant future.
Cringle, a multiple Isle of Man Centre champion both on and off-road, is currently leading the ACU British S1 Supermoto Championship by a narrow two-point margin heading into the concluding round at Cadwell Park the weekend after next.
He rides a 450cc TM in the domestic series but has a factory TM Moto at his disposal for this weekend’s world finale at the Jules Tacheny Circuit in Mettet, the 38th edition of the Belgian classic.
UPDATE ON JAMIE
Ryan’s brother Jamie underwent an eight-hour operation to remove the cage from his severely injured right leg on Tuesday.
The operation took place at Broadgreen Hospital in Liverpool, four months to the day since his crash in the Supersport TT at Union Mills.
‘I finally got the cage off my leg and the rod with the motor inserted to start pulling the bones together,’ he posted on social media.
‘Surgery was successful, but last night was a sleepless one for me due to the trauma my leg had been through from the operation with removing 20 pins that went into the bones.
‘A massive thank you to the doctors and nurses for looking after me.’
