IQ-EQ has named Simon Scott as its new managing director for the Isle of Man as the group.

Simon has more than 35 years in the banking industry, specialising in client relationship management, commercial performance, strategic change and stakeholder leadership.

Prior to joining IQ-EQ on Victoria Road, Simon was managing director, Isle of Man country head, of a British multinational bank for 10 years.

Initially specialising in corporate credit and corporate relationship banking in the London regions, he also spent five years working for the Africa division, leading a major multi-jurisdictional change project, as well as serving as credit director in Mauritius.

During his professional career, Simon obtained an MBA from Durham University and completed the Chartered director qualification, as well as the diploma in company direction with the Institute of Directors.

Simon will be working closely with John Legrand, IQEQ’s regional chief executive officer for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Crown Dependencies.

In his new role, Simon will be responsible for the growth strategy and leading the day-to-day management of the Isle of Man business.

John Legrand, regional chief executive officer, said: ’Given his strong operational leadership credentials and extensive experience in financial services in the Crown Dependencies and beyond, I believe Simon brings the right expertise to this role as managing director.
