The St John's Produce Show returns this weekend, bringing together the best of the village’s home-grown produce, baking, flowers, photography and children's artwork.

The annual event takes place on Saturday, September 5, at St John's Methodist Hall, with the show opening to the public at 3pm.

Organisers are inviting residents of all ages to get involved, with a wide range of classes designed to encourage both experienced exhibitors and newcomers.

The schedule includes competitions for homemade sweets, honey and preserves, confectionery, flowers and garden produce, alongside photography and children's competitions.

Among the produce classes are potatoes, carrots, onions, tomatoes, leeks, rhubarb, apples and plums, while budding photographers can enter images including Manx scenes and sporting action.

There are also plenty of opportunities for younger participants, with children's classes including decorated cakes, biscuits, brownies, handmade cards, bracelets, animal drawings, painted stones and crafts.

One of the highlights of the evening will be the auction of produce, which gets under way at 7.30pm and will be conducted by auctioneer Lee Cain.

All of the exhibits will be available to buy, giving visitors the chance to take home some locally produced treats while supporting good causes.

The prize presentation takes place at 7pm, before the auction begins, while evening admission is free. Afternoon admission costs £1 for adults and 50p for children.

All funds raised by this year's event will be donated to the Great North Air Ambulance Service and Age Concern Isle of Man.

The organisers are also appealing for anyone who may be able to help with the show to come forward.

For those wishing to enter, exhibits can be taken to the hall on Friday, September 4, between 7pm and 8.30pm, or on show day between 9am and 11.30am.
