Three fire engines were sent to reports of a structure fire in the centre of Castletown on Sunday morning.
A turntable was also sent to the scene. But the fire had already been extinguished prior to the crews’ arrival.
Station officer Amber Carridge said: ‘This morning (Sunday) our crews responded to reports of a structure fire in Castletown, with three major appliances, the turntable ladder and duty officer attending.
‘On arrival, crews found the fire had already been extinguished and was confined to the oven appliance. Crews remained on scene for around 30 minutes to ventilate the property and make the area safe. Thankfully, the fire was contained and there were no injuries reported.’
Station officer Carridge has also emphasised the importance of smoke alarms.
