Two candidates have stepped forward to join Marown Commissioners following the resignation of one of its members.
Kirsty Collister and Oksana Hargreaves are vying to fill the empty seat left by John Lovelady who resigned because of increasing personal commitments.
An election notice issued by the local authority confirmed that nominations opened on Wednesday, September 2.
Candidates then had to complete a nomination paper and declaration of relevant interests to the deputy returning officer Jenny Devereau by Wednesday, September 9.
Voting for the by-election will take place on Thursday, October 8.
The local authority says full details about the polling station and a formal Notice of Poll will be released in due course.
