Two road resurfacing projects in the Isle of Man have been completed, with works at Agneash and Windermere Close in Onchan now finished.
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed that Island Drainage Ltd has completed all planned resurfacing works at Agneash.
This work presented a number of challenges for the contractor, with the road being a particularly long cul-de-sac as well as being steep and single track.
The nature of the road meant that carrying out the works required additional consideration, with access and the restricted width of the road presenting challenges during the resurfacing operation.
Island Drainage Ltd is now in the process of transporting its equipment to its next resurfacing site at Lhoobs Road, in Patrick.
A spokesperson from the DoI commented: ‘We would like to thank residents for their patience and tolerance whilst these essential works were underway.’
Meanwhile, resurfacing work has also been completed at Windermere Close in Onchan.
The project focused on an older section of the road which required additional work before the new wearing course could be laid.
The Department said this was necessary because of the minimal construction of the road.
Those additional works have been carried out with the aim of maximising the lifespan of the new road surface once the wearing course was installed.
The project also included work on pedestrian infrastructure, with significant areas of footpath at Windermere Close resurfaced after they had begun to break up.
The completion of the two projects forms part of the Department of Infrastructure's ongoing programme of road maintenance and resurfacing across the island.
This includes the work on Lhoobs Road in Patrick, which runs between Ballavagher Road and the switchback on the Foxdale Road (Eairy Dam).
