Weather forecasters have issued a yellow warning for ice and frost.

The Department of Infrastructure has been gritting major routes as a result.The Met Office forecast:

One or two icy patches are possible on the roads at first today. Otherwise, it will be a dry and sunny day, but it will feel very cold in the fresh to strong southeast winds. Maximum temperatures only 5 Celsius, then after dark it will turn cloudy.

Tonight will be cloudy and breezy, with tomorrow then cloudy, dull and cold, again with fresh to strong southeast winds. The cloud may just be thick enough to produce a little light drizzle at times, then during the evening some outbreaks of rain will develop.

Rain clearing tomorrow night, leaving a dry and bright day on Wednesday. Winds will be much lighter, and it will feel a little milder.
