THE Grand Tour of North Barrule was the second counter in the Callin Wild Fell League over a tough 5km route recently.
The route involved the three legs, crash-site flag pole and summit trig point.
A strong field of more than 80 set off through the flagged section, prior to the steep ascent to the three legs. Various lines were taken over the route which led to a close finish when Sam Jones almost lost the top spot to Oliver Harrison in a sprint finish to the line. Liam Parker took third some 20s later.
Eleanor Miklos won the women’s race from Caroline Caren, with another sprint for third went to Rosy Craine from Jan Gledhill.
The junior short course event was under 5km and fully flagged to the summit trig point and back. Comfortable winner was Max Roberts from Orry Nelson-Gale and Logan Roberts.
Thanks to the marshals, the landowners, sponsor and Richard Smith for parking.
The James Coulson Laxey race is on Saturday, October 24.
