David Mullarkey's impressive 2026 season has continued with the announcement this week of his selection for Great Britain at the World Road Running Championships next month.

The event takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark, over the weekend of September 19-20, and the Manx athlete has been selected to run in the men's 5km event.

It's further confirmation of the impact the Commonwealth Games bronze medallist is making on the international running scene, and we all look forward to seeing him wear the GB vest once again like he did at the recent European Championships in Birmingham where he finished 12th in the men's 10,000 metres final.

Also in the GB women's team is Sarah Calvert, who competed in the 2022 Isle of Man Easter Festival while a student at Edinburgh University.
