Isle of Man cyclist Matthew Bostock has been nominated for a British Cycling award.
The 29-year-old from Glen Vine has enjoyed a superb year, most notably winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and most recently being crowned scratch world champion on the track in China.
Now, Bocky has been shortlisted for the 2026 National Champion of the Year at the annual British Cycling Awards which takes place in Manchester later this month.
Bostock is one of six national champions to be shortlisted and he will go up against Charlie Aldridge, Erin Boothman, Tracy Mosely, Callum Russell and Jordan Williams.
Announcing Bocky as a nominee, British Cycling described the Manxman as: ‘A dominant figure on both the road and track, Matt became both the scratch and elimination national champion on the track, as well as the national circuit champion on the road; an excellent achievement across disciplines.
‘Representing the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Games, Matt took gold in the points race, the island's first gold in 20 years since Mark Cavendish in 2006, before then becoming world champion in the scratch race at the 2026 UCI Track World Championships.
‘Off the bike, Matt is a credit to the community and sets a good example to others with his excellent attitude.’
Voting is decided by public vote and can be done so via the British Cycling which can be found online at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/
The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday, November 14.
