FC Isle of Man picked up a hard-fought 1-1 draw with play-off rivals Abbey Hey on Saturday evening.

Cheered on by a Bowl crowd of more than 1,700, the Ravens took a 51st minute lead when Jack McVey slotted home from the penalty spot.

However, Chris Bass Sr’s men were denied all three points, as the Manchester outfit equalised in the fourth minute of injury time to clinch a share of the spoils.

The result means the teams remain second and third respectively in the North West Counties League Division One South and firmly in the play-off contention, although the Manx side have now lost a little ground on leaders West Didsbury and Chorlton. After the weekend’s results they now lead by four points with a game in hand.
