Foxdale recorded the biggest result in Ardern and Druggan Division Two on Saturday, scoring 11 goals away to Douglas and District, while Gymns edged a nine-goal thriller against Michael United.

Foxdale were in ruthless form at Noble’s Park, running out 11-0 winners against Douglas and District.

Jason Chatwood was the chief tormentor for the home defence, scoring an impressive eight goals to put the hosts to the sword.

Matthew Cubbon, William Taylor and Daniel Collister also found the net as Foxdale recorded their third league victory of the season and significantly improved their goal difference.

Gymns and Michael United served up an entertaining contest in Tromode, with the hosts eventually prevailing 5-4 in a game which produced plenty of goals.

Andrew Burkitt led the way for the home side with a brace, while Graham Druggan, Daniel Pennington and Carl Wagstaffe were also on target.

The Aces refused to let the hosts have things their own way though, with summer signing Tom Redmond, Jimmy Butler, Dean Tate and Nathan Faragher finding the net to set up a nervy finale.

But Gymns held on to claim all three points and move on to nine points from four matches and sit third in the fledgling standings.

Pulrose United also picked up a valuable away victory, beating Malew 3-1.

The visitors opened the scoring through Brian Lowther’s flick-on from a corner, only for Malew to equalise immediately through Kieran Krypner.

But Pully restored their lead before half-time when Lowther grabbed his second of the afternoon and Nathan Halsall sealed victory by adding a third for the Reds.

St George’s were in fine form as they enjoyed an emphatic victory, defeating Ayre United 6-0 at Glencrutchery Road.

Brandon Bellew was the star of the show as he helped himself to a hat-trick for the home side, while Bobby-Jak Johnston, George Leece and Jonny Quirk also got their names on the scoresheet.

There was a much closer encounter at Ballafletcher where Douglas Royal and DHSOB shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Callum Yates gave the visitors a first-half lead but quickfire goals from Conor Dempsey and Wes Gibson turned the game on its head to put Royal 2-1 in the second half, before Danny Corrin grabbed a late leveller for Old Boys.

The draw left Douglas Royal on three points, having also drawn with Michael Utd and Douglas & District earlier in the campaign, while DHSOB moved on to five points from four games.

STANDINGS

At the top of the Ardern and Druggan Division Two table, Castletown remain in pole position with a maximum 12 points from four matches, having enjoyed a free week on Saturday. The return to action with a southern derby against neighbours Malew this Saturday.

Foxdale are now up to second on nine points on goal difference from Gymns in third place, one point ahead of Malew who in turn are two clear of Michael United.

St George’s moved on to three points following their victory, while Royal, Douglas and District, and Ayre United remain without a win.
