Former island resident and Mount Murray golfer Herman Loubser has secured his place on the DP World Tour – formerly known as the European Tour - after finishing third on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit in South Africa at the weekend.

Loubser’s impressive season concluded on Sunday, earning him the sole DP World Tour card available and marking a significant milestone in his career.

He began his golfing journey in the island at the age of only seven years old as a junior member at Peel GC, before progressing to Mount Murray.

By the age of 12, he had already reached the last 16 of the Isle of Man Golf Championships and went on to represent the Isle of Man at Junior Northern Counties level.

Although he relocated to South Africa with his family at 15, Loubser has always credited the Isle of Man as the foundation of his development in the sport.

He now joins his brother Conrad Loubser on the DP World Tour, with Conrad currently caddying for rising South African star Casey Jarvis.

- Freddie Dancox of Ramsey Golf Club claimed his second US collegiate victory last week at Heritage Hills Golf Club in Nebraska.

Trailing by four shots after the opening round, Dancox produced an excellent final round of three-under-par to secure a one-shot win.
