Independent media outlets are joining forces to deliver what they say will be the largest election coverage operation the Isle of Man has ever seen ahead of this month's General Election.
Media Isle of Man, Manx.News and IOM TV, are collaborating as part of the VOTE 2026 campaign to provide voters with coverage across television, radio, newspapers, websites and social media.
The full list of candidates for the 2026 General Election has now been confirmed, with 82 people standing across the island's 12 constituencies.
Voters will go to the polls on Thursday, September 24, to elect 24 Members of the House of Keys, with each constituency returning two MHKs for a five-year term.
The VOTE 2026 campaign will begin its live candidate Question Time programmes on Monday, September 7.
The live hustings will begin at 7pm each evening, with candidates asked to arrive by 6.30pm.
The schedule starts on Monday, September 7, with Douglas Central and Ayre & Michael, followed by Douglas East and Ramsey on Tuesday, September 8, and Douglas North and Rushen on Wednesday, September 9.
The remaining constituencies will take part from Monday, September 14 to Wednesday, September 16, covering Arbory, Castletown & Malew, Glenfaba & Peel, Douglas South, Onchan, Garff and Middle.
Juan Turner, founder of Energy FM and Manx.News, said the collaboration would provide extensive coverage throughout the campaign and on election night.
He said: ‘This is the largest election coverage the island has ever seen.
‘We start on Monday, September 7 with the series of live candidate question time shows, where Richard Slee will question the candidates and discuss the topics that are impacting people's lives.
‘Viewers can also get involved by submitting questions via vote2026.im.’
Mr Turner said election night would feature live television pictures from every count, alongside studio guests, rolling news and updates.
He added: ‘VOTE2026 will be the election night show everyone will need to be tuned in to, and I am delighted we are collaborating with Media Isle of Man as together we will have the strongest team of reporters working together and coming live from every declaration.’
The coverage will be available across multiple platforms, including smart TVs, tablets and mobile phones, while the VOTE 2026 online portal will allow viewers to submit questions and comments throughout the campaign and on election night.
The coverage will also be available in audio form through podcast platforms.
Dion Jones, editor of Media Isle of Man, said the organisation was ‘delighted’ to be working with Manx.News, IOM TV and other media partners.
He said: ‘The General Election is an important moment for the Manx public, with the decisions made at the ballot box helping to shape the island's future for years to come.
‘By bringing our respective teams and resources together, we want to give voters comprehensive, accessible coverage of the campaign and ensure they have the information they need to make an informed choice.
‘On election night, our journalists will be working together across the island to bring people the results, reaction and analysis as it happens.’
Mr Jones described the collaboration as ‘a really exciting’ one which would put Manx voters ‘at the heart’ of the coverage.
Media Isle of Man, formerly Isle of Man Newspapers, is the island's longest-standing provider of news, business and lifestyle content.
Its publications include the Isle of Man Examiner, Manx Independent and Isle of Man Courier, alongside the Isle of Man Today website and digital brand Gef.
Manx.News provides news coverage through its association with Energy FM, while IOM TV is led by broadcaster and journalist Paul Moulton.
The collaboration will bring reporters from across the participating organisations together throughout election night, with coverage from constituencies across the island as results are declared.
