The Isle of Man will go to the polls on Thursday, September 24, to elect 24 Members of the House of Keys for the next five-year term.
Each of the Island’s 12 constituencies will elect two MHKs, with six candidates standing in Onchan.
Here is a look at the candidates hoping to secure one of the two seats in the constituency.
* Rob Callister - Independent
Rob Callister is an independent candidate and sitting MHK for Onchan, standing for the third time in a General Election. He says his decade representing the constituency has focused on being visible, hardworking and approachable.
His priorities are delivering on housing commitments, transforming healthcare and rebuilding public confidence in political decision-making, the economy and immigration.
* Gabriella Corkish - Independent
Gabriella Corkish is an independent candidate and Onchan District Commissioner, having been elected in 2025. She is standing in a General Election for the first time, although her grandfather Geoff Corkish was an MHK for 13 years.
The 20-year-old says her priorities include infrastructure, education, food security and support for pensioners and vulnerable households. She wants a more open and accountable approach to politics, focused on delivery rather than promises.
Her priorities are better coordination in health and social care, support for children and vulnerable people, and food security and affordability.
* Julie Edge - Independent
Julie Edge is an independent candidate and sitting MHK, having first been elected in 2016. She says the key issues for her include the economy, healthcare, education, transparency, democracy and free speech.
She says Onchan needs experienced representatives who are prepared to ask difficult questions and stand up for the constituency and the Island.
* Rachel Glover - Independent
Rachel Glover is an independent candidate, scientist and business founder standing for the first time. She founded Taxa Genomics and volunteered to establish the Isle of Man's Covid-19 testing laboratory during the pandemic.
She says she is tired of seeing problems receive strategy documents rather than measurable solutions with clear accountability.
Her priorities include making the island more family-friendly, tackling housing and diversifying the economy, alongside extending childcare support, backing small businesses and improving value for money in healthcare.
* Peter Karran - Liberal Vannin
Peter Karran is standing for the Liberal Vannin Party. He founded the party and represented Onchan for much of his more than 30 years as an MHK, having first served briefly for Middle.
He last stood in 2016 and says he is now standing for the eighth time in a General Election because he is 'horrified' by what he believes has gone backwards over the past decade.
His priorities include housing, pensions and healthcare, as well as broadening the economy and tackling what he describes as 'crony capitalism'.
* Oliver Lockwood - Independent
Oliver Lockwood is an independent candidate and current Onchan District Commissioner, making his first General Election bid. He is an actuary and wants to apply his experience in financial reporting to improve financial management across government and the wider economy.
His priorities are getting better value from business support schemes and health and social care, alongside promoting active travel.
