The condition of a 14-year-old boy who was hit by a car on Good Friday has moved from critical to ’variable’, according to police.

He still remains at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

The boy was flown to the Liverpool hospital after sustaining serious injuries from colliding with a vehicle at Andreas Airfield on March 30.

It is understood that the boy was playing with a group of teenage friends when the incident happened.

The driver of the vehicle has been interviewed.

Andreas Airfield is privately-owned and it is not classed as a road or other public place. Therefore any offences under the Road Traffic Act 1985 would not apply.
