Detectives investigating an alleged stabbing in Douglas say several people have been arrested but inquiries are ongoing.

The incident involving a group of males and females took place during the early hours of Saturday (April 20) in the Victoria Road area, near the junction with Broadway.

Nearby Woodville Terrace was cordoned off for most of the day.

CID officers have confirmed that although injuries were sustained by ’some’ individuals, all have subsequently been released from Noble’s Hospital.

Several people have been arrested and inquiries are ongoing, police said in a statement.

And they added: ’The Constabulary would like to stress that this was an incident involving persons who knew each other and that members of the public are not at risk.’

Police say they are particularly keen to identify any other members of the public who have not already come forward who may have witnessed or heard this incident, or anyone who may have any information to assist with the investigation.
