Jay Waters, aged 21, of St Runius Way, Glen Vine, appeared in court this week charged with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.

He is also accused of causing serious bodily harm but driving without due care or consideration.

Mr Waters entered a ’no plea’ response to both charges.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction and the case will be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on September 29.

We previously reported that Katie Robley, aged 19, died when the car she was travelling in, which was driven by Mr Waters, collided with a van on the A5 Douglas to Castletown Road on October 25 last year.

Bail continues.
