Diesel has been drained from three HGVs parked at a Department of Infrastructure depot in the north of the island.
The vehicles had to be taken off the road while repairs were carried out, causing delays to programmed works across the island.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened at Glen Duff depot, in Lezayre Road, Lezayre overnight Tuesday/Wednesday (September 19/20).
In a statement it says: ’Three HGV wagons have had the fuel caps forcibly removed and the diesel drained from the tank.

Officers have advised residents to be ’vigilant and report any suspicious activity’.
’We have not had any reports of domestic fuel thefts, but this is a timely reminder to secure your fuel tanks and don’t make it easy for these criminals,’ the statement continues.
