Firefighters were called out to a deal with flooding at a home in Ballasalla.

The 999 call-out to Mill Road came at just before 7am this morning (Sunday).

An amber weather warning had been issued by the Met Office for heavy rain and localised flooding until 4pm this afternoon.

Fire crews from Castletown and Malew station attended the incident at Mill Road.

They used a light portable pump to reduce water levels flowing from blocked drains until a team from the Department of Infrastructure could attend with specialist equipment.

This afternoon, police warned motorists about dangerous driving conditions on Brown Cow Hill in Santon due to standing surface water.
