Five people were arrested in the north of the island during a busy Saturday night for police.

Police from Douglas and the west of the island assisted their colleagues in the north last night.

According to the Northern neighbourhood policing team inquiries are under way into alleged offences ranging from burglary to common assault.

A spokesman for the team said:’On the whole most people have been well behaved and enjoyed their night before going home to their own beds.’

’We would like to thank our colleagues from the Western Community Team and Douglas Patrol Team for their assistance tonight.’
