Matthew Robert Jeff, aged 20 of Baldhoon Road, Laxey, Shane Anthony Garrett, aged 22, of Waterloo Road, Ramsey, Callum Matthew Kinrade, aged 19, of Lheaney Grove, Ramsey, Christopher James Duggan, aged 24, of Ballajora Hill, Maughold, and Jaye Nicholas Martin Birchall, aged 21 of Glen Road in Laxey, have all been charged with committing an affray on December 17 last year. All five have denied the offence relating to events alleged to have unfolded outside the Mitre pub, in Ramsey on so-called black-eye Friday.

After hearing the prosecution’s outline of the case, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said the trial could take place in the Deputy High Bailiff’s court.
The matter could go to Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing if required. They reappear on August 17.
