A 40-year-old man from Anagh Coar has denied that £290,000- worth of ecstasy and cannabis found in a boiler room belonged to him.

Aaron Joseph Deane Roberts, care of the prison, pleaded not guilty to possession of both drugs with intent to supply.

Cannabis weighing 7kg, worth £140,000, and 10,000 ecstasy tablets, valued at £150,000 were found by police during a search of an address at Anagh Coar Close on March 12.

The drugs were found in bin bags in a boiler room at the address.

Mr Roberts said that he had no knowledge of the bags despite his fingerprints found on them.

He said that he must have touched the bags to move them out of the way when he was in the boiler room.

Bail was refused by magistrates and Mr Roberts was remanded in custody.

He was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery where he will appear on a date to be set.
