A man who accepted medication from a man in the pub has been fined.
Callum Robert Mathieson-Nelson, of Somerset Road, Douglas, admitted having class C drugs Pregabalin and Gabapentin.
Prosecutor James Robinson told the court that Mathieson-Nelson was spoken to by police on Peel Road in Douglas where he was a passenger in a car on May 15.
Five Pregabalin tablets and four Gabapentin tablets were found.
When interviewed by police Mathieson-Nelson, aged 24, said he had been given the tablets by a man in the pub who said that they might assist him with his depression.
Mathieson-Nelson said he had looked up Gabapentin on the internet and decided he would not take it anyway.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him: ’It was extremely foolhardy of you to take medication from a man in the pub.’
Mathieson-Nelson was fined £250 for the possession of each drug and must also pay £125 in prosecution costs.
