A 32-year-old man has admitted stealing oil from a property.
Dean Anthony Whitehead, of Heather Crescent, Pulrose, will be sentenced on April 16 after a probation report.
Magistrates heard that the offence puts him in breach of suspended sentence.
Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane said police were called to a house at Anagh Coar Lane on November 21 at 6.45pm after a report of two men stealing oil from an unoccupied council property.
The other man was fined during a separate court appearance.
Mr Kane said that once a tenant leaves a property anything left, such as the oil, belongs to Douglas Council.
Defence advocate David Clegg said: ’The theft wasn’t successful. Police attended while oil was being drained from the tank.’
Magistrates ordered that a probation report be completed.
